A liber amicorum dedicated to Alberto Spreafico, coming at a significant moment in time: the thirtieth anniversary of the Faculty of Political Sciences of Catania, and the twenty-fifth anniversary of the foundation of Consiglio italiano per le Scienze Sociali (CSS). Both institutions owe a lot to Alberto Spreafico. Neither would be what they are if he had not directed his inexhaustible energies and enthusiasm towards this type of initiative, with his contagious ability to bring together men and resources in a single project.
